Check out how William Stevens is honoring Adam with the FEARLESS ROCK, Underwater Memorial. And spread the word please. Eric, I want to thank you for telling Adam Brown’s story in your book ” Fearless. As a native of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a Veteran I was touched by Adam’s story. I did not know or serve with Adam, but I wanted to honor his memory, life and sacrifice. After a lot of thought and prayer, I had the idea to create an underwater memorial for Adam, a laser-etched granite marker on a large rock 40 feet beneath the surface of Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The memorial will be known as “Fearless Rock”. It will be a lasting tribute to Adam as well as an inspiration to the diving community. We have received permission from Adam’s family and Navy SOCOM for the memorial. I only “met” Adam once. And I didn’t know it was him until 2 months ago. Back in 1995 during the months before he was arrested. I was travelling to my next military duty assignment and stopped in Hot Springs to have dinner with some friends at my favorite BBQ place (Stubby’s) I was in my military uniform and I asked for some bottles of their sauce to take with me on my journey – like I always did. Well a young man came to the table and brought me the bottles I had ordered and then gave me a free bottle. He said…”Thank you for what you do” and walked away. I remember that he was very polite and even a little shy. My friend told me that young man was Adam. I guess God put this project in my mind and heart as a way that I can return the favor for Adam. I have created a Facebook page for the memorial project. Please feel free to check it out at: https://www.facebook.com/FearlessRockMemorial Thank you for sharing Adam’s story with the world. The Fearless Project has purchased and shared 40 copies of your book to our supporters and anyone who asks for one. I have attached some photos of the unveiling ceremony with Kelley and Savannah, as well as Shawn Brown and his family!

Thank you Christian Garcia for making my day. Christian is on my son’s 8 to 10-year-old Minor B Little League team and an avid reader beyond his years. Last Saturday’s game, I was third-base coach. When Christian (one of our most consistent hitters) made it to third, I gave him a high five, and he grinned and said. “Hey, coach Eric, you write books?” I told him, I do, and since there were two outs, I reminded him, “You’re running on anything…” After the next pitch he looked over again and said, “That’s cool!” And I said, “Thanks buddy.” Well, today after our game, Christian walked up to me with a Barnes ‘n’ Noble bag, and pulled out one of each of my recent books while the whole team gathered around. He handed me the stack, and said “Can you sign them, and maybe put ‘Coach Eric’ on there?” Anyway. I’ve been fortunate enough to sign quite a few books the past decade, but Christian—those three tonight were by far the most special. Thanks buddy, you made me feel like a rock star.

Please share this story that announces a powerful documentary making it’s way to select theaters across the nation. It’s about last WWI Veteran Frank Buckles: A wave of screenings for the film has been announced for Missouri and Arkansas after an explosive week. The film schedule took off like wildfire after one screening in Iowa on April 15. Five years ago 108 year old veteran Frank Buckles and David DeJonge visited the abandoned DC War Memorial on the National Mall. DeJonge quickly grabbed his camera and began filming–that filming still has not stopped. “I knew when the last veteran from World War Ones wheel chair could not be rolled to that war monument in DC because his wheels were stuck in the cracked sidewalk this story had to be shared with the entire nation- and we will. America will not forget about 5 million veterans if the midwest can have anything to do with it.” Story of Frank Buckles

This message made my day: Mr. Blehm: I want to take a minute of your time to thank you for writing this book, and to tell you a quick story. Last Thursday I was getting ready to go on a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas to meet up with a friend from Arizona for a meet in the middle girls weekend. On my way out the door from my home in Massachusetts, I decided I needed a book for the plane. I went through the 6 unread/new books in a pile on my nightstand, and decided I wanted to read about Adam. As I sat on the plane for my first flight and read that Adam was from Hot Springs I got the chills. The coincidence felt spiritual to me. The odds that I would pick up your book on the day I was flying to Arkansas would have to be astronomical considering I will probably never go there again. I kept reading, and by the time I landed at BWI for my connection I had decided I needed to find Adam’s grave and pay my respects. As soon as I had wifi I checked to see how far Hot Springs was from Little Rock. I knew I had 4 hours on my own before my friend showed up, so I decided I was going to do it. When I landed in Little Rock I did more research, found where Adam is laid to rest and rented a car. I took the attached picture while I was cemetery. I was honored to be able to visit Adam’s grave and pray for him and his family. After I got back in my car to drive back to Little Rock I turned on the radio and Lee Greenwood’s “Proud to be an American” came on. I was so overcome with emotion I had to pull over. I’m not sure why this happened to me, but I do feel blessed that it did. I am an American who is grateful every day of my life for the sacrifices men like Adam and their families make for us and our country. So, I just wanted you to know, that I now feel somehow connected to Adam – I just hope that I can live my life in a way that honors him. Again, thank you for writing this tribute to a real human hero. Sharon from Massachusetts.

Most of the world that is far removed from Afghanistan, Iraq and even the US watches what happens from afar on CNN or BBC and wonders what the war is all about. But we border Somalia and we see your fathers, brothers, sons and husbands patrolling our seas to enable us to enjoy the freedom and peace that we have.
