Juror of Barnes & Noble’s Discover Award for Non Fiction

During the past year, I was one of the jurors of Barnes & Noble’s Discover Award for Non Fiction. It required reading 27 books, and narrowing them down to my top three. Next week, I will be traveling to New York City to present the awards. The number one book is bestowed the distinction of the Best Non Fiction book of the year by a new author. Five years ago, I won the award for The Last Season, so coming back to help judge the award program is especially cool. Here is a time warp photo, me on the podium, accepting the award in 2006.
